🌟 Hand Balancing at PADA

Elevating Strength, Control & Artistry

PADA is proud to offer one of the World’s most progressive and safely structured Hand Balancing programs — led by Principal Teacher Rob.

PADA is honoured to be one of the first schools in the world to implement the brand‑new Aerial Arts Hand Balancing Syllabus, launched in March 2026. This positions PADA at the forefront of safe, research‑driven acrobatic education.

🤸‍♂️ What Is Hand Balancing?

Hand Balancing is the art of supporting the body entirely on the hands or arms, whether holding still shapes or transitioning through dynamic positions. It is a foundational skill seen in acro dance, gymnastics, circus arts, and sports acrobatics.

The discipline builds exceptional strength, alignment, spatial awareness, and control — all essential qualities for today’s multi‑disciplinary performers.

📈 Why the Demand Is Growing

With the rise of Cirque‑style productions, dance television, and social media, Hand Balancing has become a highly sought‑after skill. Studios worldwide are expanding their training to meet this demand, but many lack qualified instructors. This gap has led to unsafe teaching practices and students attempting skills beyond their readiness.

PADA’s certified, structured approach ensures students progress safely, confidently, and with expert guidance.

🧩 The Hand Balancing Solution

The Acrobatic Arts Hand Balancing syllabus was developed through decades of research and collaboration with industry and health professionals. It provides:

  • Clear, step‑by‑step progressions
  • Safe, thoughtful technique foundations
  • Teacher training focused on spotting, safety, and progression
  • Annual examiner support and feedback for students

At PADA, students follow a progressive pathway from Primary to Level 6, developing strength, balance, flexibility, stability, and shaping. This syllabus works seamlessly alongside Acrobatic Arts and dance training, creating a well‑rounded, injury‑resilient athlete.

Props such as handstand blocks and canes are used to enhance technique and build confidence.

💪 The Benefits for Students

Training in Hand Balancing develops:

  • Balanced muscular strength
  • Improved flexibility and joint stability
  • Enhanced endurance and body awareness
  • Reduced risk of accidents and chronic injuries
  • Stronger foundations for acro, aerial, and dance

Students become more capable, confident, and technically refined — skills that support them across all areas of their training.
